About the work unit / facility
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) is a 36-bed acute inpatient service located at The Townsville Hospital. The unit provides specialised care to consumers experiencing acute episodes of mental illness and delivers recovery-focused, contemporary care within a safe, least restrictive environment. Operating under a multidisciplinary model of care, the AAMHIU is a secure facility designed to maximise patient safety. Services are provided across a 28-bed Low Dependency Unit, which includes gender-specific living areas, and an 8-bed High Dependency Unit.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
Base salary range: $87,790 to $112,607 p.a. (Nurse Grade 5)
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
On-call and shift allowances (where applicable)
Professional development allowance + dedicated leave
Plus a range of salary packaging options to increase take-home pay
About your opportunity
In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients and their families within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members and other internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
