About GSES

Established in 1998, Global Sustainable Energy Solutions (GSES) is one of Australia's established renewable energy training and engineering organisations.

GSES Training delivers nationally recognised and professional development training across Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), stand-alone power systems and the broader renewable energy sector. Our courses support pathways to Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation and the ongoing professional development of electricians, engineers and renewable energy professionals.

Beyond our Australian training operations, GSES develops technical training content and provides training systems and programs for partner organisations throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific, Asia and other international markets.

As renewable energy technologies continue to evolve, we want GSES Training to evolve with them. We are looking for someone who is excited about what renewable energy education can become and wants to help us build it.

About the Role

We are looking for a Renewable Energy Education Engineer who combines technical renewable energy knowledge with strong communication skills, creativity and a genuine enthusiasm for education.

You will help develop new courses and technical content, deliver face-to-face and online training, support our Learning Management System (LMS) and RTO processes, and work with the broader Training team to continually improve how GSES develops and delivers education.

Importantly, we are looking for someone with energy, ambition and initiative.

We want someone who will look at what we currently do and ask:

How could we make this better? What should we be teaching next? How can we make this easier for students? What new technologies or markets should GSES be preparing for?

You will have the opportunity to influence the future direction of GSES Training and help develop new programs as technologies, standards and industry requirements evolve.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop high-quality technical training content across Solar PV, BESS, stand-alone power systems, EV charging, energy efficiency and emerging renewable energy and associated technologies.
- Develop course materials including presentations, technical notes, practical exercises, assessments, online learning modules and trainer resources using modern content creation tools
- Deliver engaging face-to-face, practical and online training to electricians, engineers and other industry professionals.
- Translate complex engineering concepts, standards and regulations into practical training that students can understand and apply.
- Keep existing training materials current as technologies, Australian Standards, accreditation requirements and industry practices change.
- Help identify and develop new courses and training opportunities based on changes in technology, regulation and industry demand.
- Support the administration and continuous improvement of the GSES Learning Management System and student management systems.
- Assist with RTO processes including student records, assessments, training resources, compliance documentation and continuous improvement activities.
- Work with trainers, technical experts and industry partners to continually improve GSES courses.
- Engage with manufacturers, government,

industry organisations and training partners to understand emerging skills requirements.
- Contribute to Australian and international training projects, including development of customised training programs for industry and government clients.
- Explore new technologies, digital learning tools and AI-assisted approaches that can improve the development and delivery of training.
- Contribute ideas for how GSES can expand its training offering, reach new students and strengthen its position within the renewable energy industry

Skills and Experience

- A relevant engineering qualification, preferably in electrical, renewable energy, energy systems or a related discipline.
- Practical knowledge of renewable energy technologies, particularly Solar PV and BESS.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Confidence presenting information and engaging with groups of students or industry professionals.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- An interest in education, training and professional development.
- Solid digital literacy and confidence learning new software and systems.
- A willingness to understand and work within RTO and vocational education requirements.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with trainers, engineers, administration staff and external industry partners
