Seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a State Government Department South of the River
Your current company
An exciting chance is available to join a large WA State Government department as part of a high priority payroll compliance and leave audit project. Working within a supportive team environment, you will play a key role in reviewing employee leave records, interpreting payroll information and ensuring the accuracy of payroll related data. This is a fast-paced project with full training and support provided.
Your new role
• Review and audit employee leave records and entitlements• Gather, analyse and reconcile information from multiple sources
• Maintain and update personnel and payroll records within HRMIS systems
• Process payroll documentation, leave applications, allowances and employment changes
• Review reports and identify discrepancies requiring investigation
• Interpret awards, agreements and employment conditions
• Assist with payroll enquiries and provide administrative support
• Contribute to a high volume project environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance
What you'll need to succeed
• Experience in payroll, finance, auditing or a related administrative environment• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive high volume tasks
• Advanced data entry and computer skills, including confidence using Excel spreadsheets
• Experience gathering,
analysing and collating information from multiple sources
• Strong critical thinking and investigative skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience using HRMIS or payroll systems
• Ability to interpret and apply awards, agreements and payroll related legislation
• Previous experience with leave audits, payroll compliance activities or employee entitlements will be highly regarded.
• Knowledge of industrial awards, agreements and leave provisions is desirable
• Ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Clearance
