Senior Estimator – (Townsville)

Your new company
Our client is a well-established building and maintenance organisation delivering a diverse range of construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects across Queensland. Due to an increase in project demand, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating functions, mentor team members, and deliver accurate, competitive, and high-quality estimates across a broad portfolio of works.
This is an initial contract chance commencing 19 October 2026 through to 29 January 2027, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
Your new role
As the Senior Estimator, you will play a key leadership role in managing estimating programs and overseeing complex building and maintenance projects from initial assessment through to submission.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and supporting a team of Estimators and administration support staff
- Delivering complex and high-value estimating projects and programs
- Preparing detailed estimates, quotations, cost plans, and tender documentation
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, contract requirements, and legislative obligations
- Undertaking research and development to improve estimating, planning, budgeting, and delivery processes
- Producing reports on estimating activities, project volumes, acceptance rates, costs, margins, and productivity
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and negotiation
- Managing staff performance, development,



and conduct
- Promoting and maintaining a strong workplace health and safety culture

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Extensive experience in estimating within the building construction and maintenance industry
- Proven ability to compile, manage, and deliver complex estimating projects
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop team members
- Thorough knowledge of construction methodologies, maintenance practices, procurement processes, and contract administration
- Strong understanding of building legislation, regulatory requirements, and tendering procedures
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- High-level analytical and reporting capabilities
- A commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
- Current unrestricted Driving Licence
