Senior Storeman with a forklift ticket, front end loader ticket and HR truck ticket required for 3 month role

Your recent company
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Storeperson to support the day-to-day operations of a busy depot and warehouse environment.This is a varied role combining warehouse operations, forklift, HR tuck and front-end loader operation, inventory control, purchasing, and general stores responsibilities.

Your new role
As a key member of the Stores team, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, processing purchases, issuing stock, and ensuring materials are available to support operational requirements.You will also operate forklifts and front-end loaders while maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient warehouse environment

- Support the day-to-day operations of Council's centralised stores facility.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised depot yard, storeroom, and storage areas.
- Issue PPE, consumables, and materials accurately and on time to internal teams.
- Process stock requests and manage inventory using Council's purchasing system.
Operate plant and equipment safely, including:
- Forklift
- Front End Loader
- Heavy Truck
- Assist with purchasing, receipting, and general procurement of depot goods and services.
- Perform general depot and stores maintenance, including wash bay and laydown areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, policies, and approved operating practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and Lean/6S workplace practices.




- Contribute to service reliability, workplace cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively as part of the Stores team to support broader Council operations.
- Maintain and promote effective risk management practices in line with Council policy.
- Undertake other duties as required that align with skills and experience
- Able to undergo and pass a Police check

What you'll need to succeed
Post-trade certificate with relevant experience to the field, or other post-secondary qualification below diploma or degree or knowledge and skills gained through on-the-job training commensurate with the requirements of the work at this Band
- Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR)
- Forklift (LF) and Front End Loader Tickets (mandatory)
- Experience (5years +) in store operations, including customer engagement and responsibilities for stock distribution.
- Experience in purchasing and purchasing systems.
- Experience in knowledge in computerised inventory systems.
- Ability to perform stock control, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable, team-focused, and proactive work ethic

What you'll get in return
- $40 per hour + Super!- Mon to Frid: 7am - 3pm
- October to the end of January (possibility of extension)
