An opportunity is available for an experienced Finance Officer to join a busy finance team in Alice Springs on a temporary basis.This role will provide hands-on support across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, banking and general finance administration. We are looking for someone who is confident working autonomously, has excellent attention to detail and can communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and accounts payable
- Match purchase orders against invoices
- Upload and process invoices through Hubdoc, ApprovalMax and Xero
- Prepare weekly supplier payments
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Liaise with suppliers regarding invoices, payments and account queries
- Assist with corporate credit card processing and monthly reconciliations
- Process accounts receivable invoices and customer payments
- Follow up outstanding debtor accounts
- Assist with banking and daily finance transactions
- Manage petty cash and associated reconciliations
- Process journals and general finance entries
- Assist with purchase orders and maintain accurate records
- Support month-end, quarterly and annual finance processes
- Assist with end-of-financial-year audit preparation
- Provide general finance and administrative support as required
About YouTo be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer or similar position
- Experience across accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Previous experience using Xero or similar accounting software
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A professional, friendly and approachable manner
- Confidence liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Experience within a not-for-profit or Aboriginal organisation would be highly regarded
