Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing, shaping and approving network designs across multiple projects
- Defining the target-state architecture, standards and roadmap for IT and OT networks
- Architecting carrier-grade operational and field networks using Nokia IP/MPLS technologies
- Embedding zero-trust principles, segmentation and effective IT/OT boundary controls
- Leading SDN, VMware NSX-T, campus and data centre network architecture
- Developing architecture documentation, design standards and key technical decisions
- Providing technical leadership to engineers, delivery partners and vendors
- Advising senior stakeholders and influencing network modernisation strategy
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a senior network or telecommunications architect with proven experience operating as a design authority within a utility, telecommunications carrier or critical infrastructure environment.
You will bring:
- Strong architecture experience across carrier-grade OT,
grid or telecommunications networks
- Proven Nokia IP/MPLS architecture experience, including SR OS routing or service aggregation platforms
- Experience designing operational and field connectivity, such as substation WAN, SCADA communications or IP/MPLS core networks
- Strong understanding of zero-trust network architecture, segmentation and identity-aware access
- Modern software-defined networking architecture experience
- Proven VMware NSX-T design experience across micro-segmentation, distributed firewalling, overlays and edge design
- Strong campus and data centre networking knowledge, including routing, switching, resilience, spine-leaf and data centre interconnect
- Experience defining target-state architecture, technology standards and strategic roadmaps
- The ability to communicate credibly with senior stakeholders and influence decisions across IT and OT
-
Experience with utility networks, IEC 62443, IEC 61850, DNP3, teleprotection, the SOCI Act or the Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework would be highly regarded.
Exposure to SD-WAN, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Azure or AWS networking and network automation will also be beneficial.
What you'll get in return
You’ll receive an initial 6-month contract, paying up to $1,250 per day, with the opportunity to work on a major IT and OT network modernisation program. Based in Parramatta, this role offers genuine design authority and the chance to shape the future of complex, carrier-grade network infrastructure.
