Looking for a compassionate Support Worker to help clients maintain housing and build independence.

Our client is a trusted community organisation dedicated to supporting people experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness across Central Queensland. Through their Housing and Homelessness department in Gladstone, they provide practical, person‑centred support including crisis assistance, access to safe and reliable housing, and pathways to long‑term independence. Working closely with individuals, families, and local services, the team addresses immediate needs while tackling the underlying causes of homelessness with dignity and compassion.Your new role
Provide tenancy and housing support to clients to help maintain stable accommodationAssist clients to develop independent living skills and sustain long-term housing outcomesConduct client assessments, support planning, and referrals to relevant servicesMaintain accurate case notes, records, and client documentationLiaise with internal teams, community services, and external stakeholdersSupport clients with housing-related enquiries, tenancy obligations, and life skills developmentComplete administrative tasks and utilise web-based systems to maintain client informationWork collaboratively within a team to deliver positive outcomes for clientsWhat you'll need to succeed
Qualification in Community Services, Housing,
or a related fieldUnderstanding of tenancy management, community housing, or sustaining rental accommodationPrevious support work experience, including working with challenging or vulnerable clientsStrong computer literacy and confidence using web-based systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage documentation, case notes, and administrative requirements accuratelyAbility to build rapport and maintain professional boundariesWhat you'll get in return

Working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, you'll provide tenancy support, client advocacy, and case management assistance while helping clients build independence and access relevant services.
