Love the buzz of a busy café and know your way around an espresso machine? Looking for a hospitality role that fits into your weekdays? Join our Bunnings VIC Support Office Café in Burnley and bring your coffee skills and great customer service to a welcoming team environment, Monday to Friday.
About the role
There’s something pretty special about being the person behind someone’s first great coffee of the day. At our Bunnings VIC Support Office Café in Burnley, you’ll get to know our regulars, serve our team members and visitors and help create a friendly café experience people look forward to during their day. We’re looking for an experienced Part-Time Café Team Member who enjoys the pace and energy of café life and can confidently jump on the coffee machine and get involved from day one. You’ll be working alongside a supportive team where everyone pitches in, whether that’s making coffees during the morning rush, preparing food, serving customers or keeping the café looking its best. In this role you will work 3 - 4 days per week, with availability needed across Monday to Friday between 6:00 am and 4:30 pm. From time to time, you’ll also help support after-hours events, with occasional shifts finishing around 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. It’s a great chance to keep doing what you love in hospitality, with the consistency of predominantly weekday daytime shifts and your weekends free. And because you’ll be part of Bunnings, there are pathways that are yours to build, with the opportunity to learn, grow and be part of a much bigger team.
What's involved
You’ll play an important part in bringing our Support Office café to life each day. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Make consistently great espresso coffees and other hot and cold drinks
- Put your barista skills to work during busy service periods, keeping quality and friendly service front of mind
- Prepare and present café food that looks great and is ready for our customers to enjoy
- Get to know our regulars and create a warm, welcoming experience for team members and visitors
- Keep displays stocked and looking inviting throughout the day
- Jump onto the register and help keep service moving
- Help with stock, deliveries, replenishment and rotation
- Keep the café, coffee equipment and preparation areas clean, organised and ready for the next rush
- Work closely with the café team, pitching in wherever you’re needed
About You
You know that a great café experience is about more than getting the coffee right. It’s the friendly hello, remembering a regular order, staying calm when things get busy and helping your teammates when there’s a queue out the door. You’ll enjoy working with people and thrive in a role where you’re active, juggling different priorities and interacting with customers throughout your shift. You take pride in what you serve and bring a positive, reliable approach to the team. We’ll support you to give it a red hot go, learn along the way and bring your own experience and personality to the café.
What you'll need
- Hands‑on café and coffee‑making experience, with confidence using an espresso machine, steaming milk and preparing standard coffee orders
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine enjoyment of working with people
- Experience working in a busy, fast‑paced café or hospitality environment
- The ability to happily juggle multiple orders, customers and changing priorities
- A collaborative approach and willingness to pitch in across the café
- Availability to work 3–4 days per week across Monday to Friday, within our 6:00 am to 4:30 pm roster
- Reliable transport to our Burnley VIC Support Office to support the 6:00 am starts
