Job Description

We're looking for a People & Workforce Officer who is passionate about people, highly organised and enjoys building positive relationships. This role plays an important part in supporting our workforce and ensuring our employees have the systems, resources and support they need to deliver quality services to our community.

As the People & Workforce Officer, you will work closely with the People & Workforce Lead and managers across the organisation to support the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to performance reviews, workforce compliance and employee separation processes. You'll help create a positive employee experience while ensuring our workforce practices remain efficient, professional and compliant.

About the Role

In this diverse and rewarding role, you will:

- Support recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews and communicating with applicants.
- Prepare employment contracts, letters of offer and other workforce documentation.
- Assist with onboarding new employees and ensuring all required employment documentation is completed before commencement.
- Maintain accurate employee records and workforce information within ELMO.
- Coordinate annual reviews, probation reviews and employee development planning processes.
- Monitor workforce compliance requirements, including Working with Children Checks,



Criminal History Checks, qualifications, licences and mandatory training.
- Assist with workforce reporting, policy administration and compliance audits.
- Coordinate employee separation and offboarding processes.
- Provide responsive and professional support to employees and managers on routine workforce enquiries.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture that reflects OAMS values and supports employee wellbeing.

About You

You are an organised, approachable and proactive person who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative support. You understand the importance of confidentiality, attention to detail and providing excellent customer service.

You will bring:

- Experience in administration, recruitment, human resources or workforce support.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy when managing documentation and employee records.




- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
- A positive, collaborative approach and willingness to support team goals.
- The ability to build respectful and productive relationships with employees, managers and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, the role of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and the importance of culturally safe workplaces.

Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to:

- Undertake and pass a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
- Complete a pre-employment wellness check (including drug and alcohol screening)
- Hold or obtain a NSW Working with Children Check

Remuneration

Administrative Employee Grade 6 Level 1 to Level 3 $39.98 to $41.58 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience + superannuation underAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Award (MA )
