This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced freight and logistics environment. You will need significant, recent forklift operating experience, strong attention to safety and the ability to handle wide-ranging freight accurately and efficiently. The position will commence on a casual basis, working full-time hours, with warehouse operating hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Key responsibilities
- Loading and unloading trucks carrying loose and palletised cargo
- Manoeuvring loose cargo on pallets safely through a busy warehouse
- Double-stacking metal freight cages, carefully aligning connecting pins to ensure cages are securely and safely stacked
- Supporting forklift operations across freight and third-party logistics (3PL) divisions
- Scanning, sorting and moving freight, including manual handling
- Completing forklift pre-start checks and maintaining a safe, organised work area
About you
- Significant, recent experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse or freight environment
- Confidence handling varied loads and manoeuvring safely in confined spaces
- Experience stacking freight and loading and unloading trucks
- A strong focus on load stability, accuracy and safe work practices
- Reliability, a positive attitude and a willingness to support the team
- Availability to work full-time hours on a casual basis
- Reach forklift experience would be an advantage but is not essential
