Our client is a large national organisation operating across NSW, QLD, VIC and SA, with a highly unionised workforce and a complex industrial landscape, supporting a business with more than 50 Enterprise Agreements across 30+ subsidiaries.
About the role
Reporting into the Employee & Industrial Relations function, you will provide advice on employment and industrial relations matters, support and lead enterprise bargaining activities and EBA reviews, and represent the business in Fair Work Commission matters, conciliations and industrial disputes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice on a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters
- Support and lead enterprise bargaining activities and EBA reviews
- Represent the business in Fair Work Commission matters, conciliations and industrial disputes
- Advise on disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, performance management and terminations
- Partner with operational leaders on workforce planning and organisational change initiatives
- Engage with unions and employee representatives
- Review and interpret enterprise agreements, awards, employment contracts and workplace policies
- Support governance, compliance and industrial risk management activities
- Travel occasionally to support stakeholder groups across the business
About you
- Admitted Australian Lawyer with a current practising certificate
- Minimum 2 years' PQE in employment law, workplace relations or industrial relations
- Experience gained within a respected mid-tier, top-tier or specialist workplace relations practice
- Exposure to enterprise bargaining and industrial relations matters
- Confidence appearing before or engaging with the Fair Work Commission
- Solid attention to detail and ability to manage complex industrial instruments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A commercial, pragmatic approach and eagerness to continue developing your career
- 6 month temporary role with genuine pathway to a permanent position
- Onsite in the office - Immediate start
- Exposure to complex and interesting IR matters across a large national business
- Strong mentoring and support from experienced IR leaders, including a team of in-house lawyers
