About the role

The Asset & Purchasing Manager leads procurement, the stores function and the management of IKAD's tools, equipment and assets. You'll make sure what we buy meets specification and represents value for money, that suppliers can deliver before they're engaged, and that consumables and assets stay controlled, traceable and maintained. The role reports to the Business Unit Operations Manager – Fabrication.

What you'll be doing

Raise and manage purchase orders within delegated authority, including material specifications, grades and certification requirements (MTCs, CoCs, heat/lot traceability)

Pre-qualify new suppliers and subcontractors, maintain the Approved Suppliers List and run annual supplier re-evaluations

Negotiate pricing, terms and lead times, and expedite orders and back orders

Lead and coach the stores team, covering stock levels, consumable control and incoming goods inspection

Maintain the Equipment Register and asset records, and control tool and equipment bookings for workshop and site

Coordinate servicing, calibration, lifting equipment inspections and test and tag

Prepare business cases for capital equipment

Report on purchasing spend, supplier performance, stock levels and equipment compliance

Work to IKAD and client HSEQ standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 3834.2

What we’re looking for

Tertiary or Certificate IV qualification in procurement, supply chain, warehousing or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

At least 5 years in a procurement, stores or asset management role, ideally in heavy fabrication, engineering or resources services





Working knowledge of steel products, material specifications and certification, and welding consumables

Experience with ERP or inventory management systems, and strong spreadsheet skills

Experience supervising and developing stores or warehouse personnel

Positive knowledge of ISO 9001, supplier management and material traceability

Strong negotiation and commercial skills, with close attention to detail

Current WA C class driver's licence

Experience with Triumph, Power BI and WorkMetrics

Familiarity with AS/NZS ISO 3834.2 and AS/NZS 5131

Forklift High Risk Work Licence (LF)

EWP training (Yellow Card or HRW Licence)

First Aid Certificate
