Centra Health Group is seeking an experienced General Practitioner or Endorsed Nurse Practitioner with demonstrated medicinal cannabis prescribing experience to join our growing national telehealth team on a contractor basis.
This role is primarily focused on medicinal cannabis consultations, prescribing and ongoing patient management , with the opportunity to manage broader primary healthcare presentations where appropriate.
We offer an attractive contractor fee split, with practitioners earning from 60% of consultation fees , together with an established and growing patient base, flexible session availability and comprehensive administrative support.
For practitioners with strong availability and consultation volume, there is potential to earn in excess of $200,000 per annum .
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced medicinal cannabis prescriber looking to build or expand their telehealth practice without the administrative burden of running their own clinic.
Previous medicinal cannabis prescribing experience is essential for this position.
What you’ll be doing
As part of Centra Health Group’s telehealth team, you will:
- Conduct secure telehealth consultations with patients across Australia
- Assess patient suitability for medicinal cannabis treatment
- Prescribe medicinal cannabis where clinically appropriate and within your scope of practice
- Develop individualised treatment and management plans
- Provide ongoing reviews and management of medicinal cannabis patients
- Monitor treatment effectiveness,
adverse effects and patient outcomes
- Educate patients regarding treatment, responsible medication use and ongoing care
- Assess and manage broader primary healthcare presentations where appropriate
- Prescribe other medications and treatments within your scope of practice
- Arrange pathology, imaging and specialist referrals when clinically indicated
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records
- Work collaboratively with Centra Health Group’s clinical and administrative teams
- Maintain compliance with AHPRA requirements, prescribing regulations, privacy legislation and professional standards
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner or Endorsed Nurse Practitioner
- Demonstrated experience prescribing medicinal cannabis in Australia
- Strong understanding of medicinal cannabis patient assessment, prescribing and ongoing management
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Strong general practice, primary healthcare or relevant clinical experience
- Excellent clinical judgement and patient communication skills
- Ability to work independently within a telehealth environment
- Confidence using electronic medical records and digital healthcare systems
- Commitment to protected, evidence-based and patient-centred care
- Commitment to maintaining current prescribing and clinical competencies
Highly regarded
- Established medicinal cannabis patient caseload experience
- Previous telehealth experience
- Strong knowledge of Australian medicinal cannabis prescribing pathways and regulatory requirements
- Experience managing acute and chronic health conditions
- Familiarity with Australian healthcare and Medicare systems
- Experience working within high-volume telehealth environments
