Skillforce Recruitment are seeking qualified fitter for our valued client based in Welshpool

Core Responsibilities

- Preventative & Reactive Maintenance: They conduct routine mechanical inspections, service critical plant assets to maximize uptime, and perform urgent "breakdown" repairs when equipment fails.
- Troubleshooting & Fault Finding: Fitters diagnose mechanical malfunctions, using advanced problem-solving skills to pinpoint issues with automated or heavy systems.
- Servicing Plant Equipment: They repair, rebuild, and realign
- Conveyors Belts, augers, elevators, and shaking screens used to transport products
- Pumps & Fluid Systems: Slurry pumps and water systems used during the intensive washing process
- Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Air-compressors, valves, and pneumatic lines that control heavy gates, airflow ventilation, and turning machinery.
- Kiln & Air Ducts: Maintaining heavy structural machinery, fans,



and sealed steel air ducts responsible for high-temperature kilning and drying
- Plant Upgrades & Shutdowns: Fitters actively assist with mechanical fabrication (such as basic welding and pipework) during plant shutdown periods, equipment overhauls, or multi-million-dollar kiln modifications.
- Safety & Compliance: Operating in a heavy food-production space means strictly adhering to workplace hygiene safety standards, performing isolation procedures (Lockout/Tagout), and pulling necessary high-risk permits before executing

Requirments

- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
- Working with Heights
- Confined Space
- Full Working Rights to work in Australia
- Reliable Transport
- Able to pass a Pre Employment Medical
- Able to obtain a clean National Police Check
