About us
The Gambling, Liquor & Tobacco business unit supports the regulation of gambling, liquor and tobacco in Victoria, to minimise the harms these products can cause and contribute positively to the Victorian economy. It is responsible for:
- delivering and further developing the Victorian Government's strategic response to gambling, liquor and tobacco
- developing and implementing the government's policy on major gambling licensing processes
- delivering a research and evaluation program to inform responses to gambling harm in Victoria.
What you will do
As project officer, you will help plan, track and deliver gambling projects. You will support work on gambling licences and YourPlay, which helps people set spending limits.
You will:
- prepare clear project plans, reports and briefings to help guide decisions
- organise project meetings, record decisions and follow up agreed actions
- research gambling licence issues and analyse YourPlay data to provide practical advice
- track project schedules, progress and risks, keeping accurate records and helping resolve issues
- build strong working relationships with government, industry and community groups to support project delivery.
About you
You do not need a mandatory qualification for this role. Ideally, you have a relevant project management qualification or equivalent experience.
You should also have:
- knowledge of project and contract management, from planning through to completion
- experience in data analysis and writing reports that explain your findings
- problem-solving skills to assess risks, plan tasks and keep projects on track
- clear communication and teamwork skills to adapt to change and support an inclusive workplace.
