The opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Surveying Superintendent (Underground) to join our Underground Mining team at our Duketon Operation.

Reporting to the Underground Mining Alliance Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to the underground survey function, ensuring safe, accurate and timely delivery of survey services to support mining operations and strategic objectives. You will lead a team of Underground Mine Surveyors while maintaining statutory compliance and driving best practice surveying standards across the operation.

As the appointed Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyor, you will play a critical role in maintaining survey control, supporting operational planning, managing survey resources and ensuring surveying activities are completed to the highest technical and regulatory standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced underground survey leader to influence operational performance,



mentor and develop a high performing team and contribute to the ongoing success of one of Australia's leading gold producers.

This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster (ex-Perth).

The main responsibilities of this role include:

- Leading and managing the underground survey team to deliver safe, accurate and timely survey services
- Fulfilling the statutory responsibilities of the Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyor in accordance with relevant Western Australian legislation
- Developing and maintaining survey standards, systems and controls to support operational excellence and regulatory compliance
- Providing technical leadership and advice to mining, geology and technical services teams
- Managing survey resources, budgets, contractor performance and future workforce requirements
- Overseeing underground survey control, traversing, network adjustments and mine working plans
- Ensuring accurate set-out and pickup of underground development, production and infrastructure activities
- Managing cavity monitoring surveys, drone survey activities and production void measurements
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives through technology, innovation and best-practice surveying techniques
- Preparing and reviewing statutory reports, technical reports, budgets and executive-level presentations
- Building strong relationships with operational leaders, contractors, consultants and regulatory stakeholders
- Mentoring, coaching and developing survey personnel to support capability growth and succession planning

About you

To be successful for this role, you will have:

- A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying
- Extensive underground mine surveying experience,



ideally gained within hard rock underground mining operations
- Current Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyor certification issued under the Western Australian Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
- Previous experience leading and developing survey teams in an operational mining setting
- Advanced proficiency in Deswik survey applications and strong capability across modern mine surveying technologies
- Strong understanding of mine survey control, underground mine working plans and statutory reporting requirements
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of technical accuracy
- A commitment to safety leadership, continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Strong organisational, planning and budgeting capabilities
