About the role

We are seeking a Retail Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Red Dollar Bankstown (House Atelier), and help deliver an exceptional customer experience that reflects our brand's focus on quality, design, and thoughtful service. The successful candidate will oversee retail operations, sales performance, inventory, merchandising, staff management, purchasing, and financial administration. You will play an important role in maintaining the store's presentation and service standards while identifying opportunities to grow sales and strengthen customer loyalty.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, direct, and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring sales targets, customer service standards, and business objectives are consistently achieved.

- Determine appropriate product ranges, product mix, stock levels, and service standards, with consideration for customer preferences, seasonal trends.

- Manage stock across the retail floor and storage areas, implementing effective inventory control processes to minimise shrinkage, reduce stock discrepancies, and maintain product availability.

- Formulate and implement purchasing strategies and policies, working with suppliers to ensure appropriate product availability, quality, pricing, and timely delivery.

- Develop and implement sales, upselling, cross-selling, seasonal, and promotional initiatives to increase revenue and improve overall store performance.

- Ensure visual merchandising standards are consistently maintained, creating a welcoming, organised, and visually appealing environment aligned with the Store brand.

- Sell home décor products and related merchandise while providing customers with knowledgeable and personalised advice regarding product selection, styling, functionality, and use.

- Monitor and analyse sales results, customer trends, stock performance, and key performance indicators,



providing recommendations to management to improve revenue and operational efficiency.

- Recruit, select, train, supervise, and motivate retail staff, ensuring team members understand their responsibilities and consistently deliver high-quality customer service.

- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, implementing safe work practices, staff training, and appropriate risk-mitigation measures throughout the store.

About you

- At least 1–2 years of experience in retail management, retail operations, sales, or a closely related field.

- A qualification or academic background in Business, IT, Management, or a related discipline.

- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a genuine interest in home décor, interiors, design, and retail.

- Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day retail operations and achieve sales objectives.

- Experience with stock management, inventory control, merchandising, and point-of-sale systems.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- The ability to analyse sales and operational information and use insights to improve business performance.

- Experience supervising, training, and motivating staff.

- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer concerns professionally.

- A proactive and hands-on approach to retail management.
