Robert Half is partnering with a large, well-established not-for-profit organisation in Brisbane that is investing in how it manages, secures and governs its data. They are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to drive this initiative. This is a newly created role in a highly team-oriented team where you'll have real ownership and the chance to shape a function from the ground up.

The Role

This is a senior, investigative role focused on bringing together the organisation's data and application landscape and building a long-term approach to records management and data governance. You'll consolidate previous audit work with the findings of a recent Azure audit, then support the design of frameworks and automation that will make ongoing governance sustainable.

Responsibilities:

- Review and consolidate existing data and application audits into a single, accurate register of where information is stored across the organisation.
- Develop a business classification scheme and retention schedules to establish robust records management practices.
- Lead requirements elicitation and investigations across the business, working with stakeholders at varying levels of security and data maturity.
- Monitor data quality and assess how data is secured and aligned to policy and the DAMA data governance framework.
- Translate complex findings into clear documentation, presentations and recommendations for an executive audience.
- Support the long-term vision of an automated, sustainable approach to data governance,



applying systems thinking to replace manual audits and help establish a function that sets and monitors security standards.

Requirements:

- Experience as a Senior Business Analyst, ideally within government or a large, heavily regulated environment.
- Strong background in information and/or data management, including data storage, governance and advisory work.
- Experience with security, identity and access management.
- Knowledge of records management, including classification schemes and retention schedules.
- Ability to engage stakeholders with widely varying levels of technical understanding.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills, with the confidence to present to senior leadership.
- A self-starter who takes ownership and can work autonomously in a lean team.
