What you will do

As Ngangkari Program Manager, you will:

- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team delivering culturally safe, trauma-informed and strengths-based services.

- Support staff to develop effective case plans and work collaboratively with clients, families, Ngangkari and other service providers.

- Ensure case management practices are relational, culturally appropriate and responsive to the needs and aspirations of Anangu people.

- Build strong working relationships with Aboriginal organisations, health services, government agencies and other community and service providers.

- Lead continuous improvement across the program and ensure services are delivered in accordance with NPYWC policies, values and relevant legislative requirements.

- Contribute to strategic planning, operational planning, reporting, budgets and funding applications.

- Promote culturally safe and trauma-informed practice across a complex service delivery environment.

About you

We are looking for a supportive, collaborative and culturally capable leader who can build genuine relationships and work effectively across cultures.

You will ideally have:

- A valuable understanding of Aboriginal culture, particularly Anangu culture and the Central Australian and APY Lands context.

- Experience working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal people, families and communities.

- A strong understanding of cultural safety and how it applies to service delivery.

- Experience working in a trauma-informed, holistic and relational way.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work collaboratively with a diverse range of people and organisations.

- Leadership and people-management experience, including the ability to provide supportive and reflective supervision.

- The ability to work alongside Anangu staff and community members in a respectful and culturally appropriate way.

- A genuine commitment to strengths-based practice and improving outcomes for Anangu people.

- Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, Health, Human Services or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.

It would be highly regarded if you have:

- Experience living and working in Central Australia, the APY Lands or another remote Aboriginal community.

- Knowledge of Western Desert languages or a willingness to learn.

- Experience working directly with Anangu people and communities.

- Experience in case management within health, mental health, social services or community development.
