Apprenticeships Are Us is seeking a motivated 1st Year Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice to join one of our host employers in Caloundra, QLD.

This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your automotive career in an established, professional automotive workshop, working alongside experienced technicians while completing your AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

You'll gain practical experience servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing vehicles while developing the skills needed to become a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic.

Applicants must hold a current P1 driver's licence or higher. Completion of a Certificate II in Automotive is highly regarded but not essential.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice, you'll learn how to:

- Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.

- Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical faults.

- Assist with diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues.

- Service and repair braking systems.

- Work on steering and suspension systems.

- Assist with engine servicing and mechanical repairs.

- Maintain and repair cooling systems.

- Work with vehicle electrical and electronic systems.

- Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.

- Complete safety and vehicle inspections.

- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.

- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.

- Develop your understanding of different vehicle makes, models and systems.

About You

We're looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about cars, reliable and motivated to build a long-term career in the automotive industry.

To be successful, you'll have:

- A current P1 driver's licence or higher (essential).

- Certificate II in Automotive (preferred but not essential).

- A genuine interest in cars, vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs.

- A willingness to learn new skills and take direction from experienced technicians.

- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.





- A reliable and professional approach to work.

- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Good communication and time management skills.

- A commitment to workplace health and safety.

Previous automotive experience is not essential. While applicants who have completed a Certificate II in Automotive will be highly regarded, we're also looking for individuals who demonstrate genuine enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn.

Build Your Skills from the Ground Up

A Light Vehicle Mechanic apprenticeship provides the chance to develop practical skills across a wide range of automotive systems.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll build your knowledge of vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, engines, brakes, steering, suspension and electrical systems, while gaining valuable real-world workshop experience.

Eligibility

To be considered for this apprenticeship, applicants must:

- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

- Hold a current P1 driver's licence or higher.

- Be willing to undertake a four-year apprenticeship.

- Be committed to completing the required practical and theoretical training.

A Certificate II in Automotive is preferred but not mandatory.
