About the role
Join the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia (CYCSA) as a part-time Cleaner and play an important role in creating a clean, secure and welcoming environment for our members, guests and team. Based at our North Haven facility, this opportunity will suit a reliable and motivated person who takes pride in high standards and enjoys contributing to a busy Club community. You will work independently and as part of a supportive team, following established cleaning schedules, procedures and safety requirements. A positive attitude, strong service focus and genuine willingness to assist Club members are essential.
- Employment: Part-time position, 25 hours per week paid in accordance with the applicable classification under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award.
- Typical hours: 5:30 am to 10:30 am, Monday, and Thursday to Sunday
- Flexibility: The usual roster may vary to meet operational requirements. Any additional or changed hours will be discussed and agreed in advance and paid in accordance with the applicable award provisions.
- Public holidays and Club events: The roster may include work on public holidays and during Club events. These requirements will be communicated in advance where practicable and paid in accordance with the applicable award provisions.
- Reporting to: Marina Manager and General Manager
- Classification: Registered and Licensed Clubs Award
Key responsibilities
- Clean bathrooms, offices, reception, foyer, bar, bistro, patio, BBQ area, function and meeting spaces, member areas, laundry and Marina West common facilities
- Vacuum, mop, dust and wipe surfaces in line with daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules
- Empty bins and replenish soap, hand towels and other consumables throughout the Club
- Spot-clean glass doors, windows and mirrors, remove accessible cobwebs and attend to other visibly soiled areas
- Prepare spaces for functions as required
- Return glasses, dishes and coffee cups left outside after hours to the bar
- Monitor cleaning supplies and advise the Marina Manager or Maintenance Supervisor when stock needs to be reordered
- Promptly report facility issues, hazards and faulty cleaning equipment
- Follow work health and safety requirements, Club procedures and reasonable directions from the Marina Manager or General Manager
About you
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistently high cleaning standards
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- A positive, customer-focused approach and genuine interest in assisting Club members
- Good organisational skills, flexibility and punctuality
- A proactive, practical attitude and confidence using your initiative
- A commitment to following established procedures, safety requirements and reasonable directions
- A current National Police Check is essential
- A valid Working with Children Check is required; applicants who do not currently hold one must be willing to obtain it

The Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia was incorporated in 1973 and is one of Australia's premier yacht clubs. It caters for around 1,200 members with a diverse range of sporting and social interests. Competitive sailors, casual sailors and powerboat cruisers along with keen fishermen all call the CYCSA home. The Club's facilities are second to none, with magnificent marinas, hardstand berthing, a prestigious clubhouse and outdoor patio facilities plus all the necessary ancillary amenities. Port Vincent Marina located 30 nautical miles across Gulf St Vincent on Yorke Peninsula is also very proudly part of the CYCSA and provides a great facility for both that region, local members and an outstanding destination for Adelaide based members.
