Your new company

You will join a section responsible for assessing funding applications from state, territory and local governments. Your team supports investment in safer roads and active transport infrastructure across Australia. You will work within a structured and collaborative environment, with training, assessment templates, program guidance and quality assurance provided by experienced APS6 and EL1 officers.

Your new role

Working as part of a surge assessment team, you will:

- Review funding applications and supporting evidence against program guidelines and assessment criteria

- Evaluate project scope, objectives, expected advantages, risks and deliverability

- Assess proposals against road safety and active transport outcomes

- Prepare clear, concise and evidence-based assessment comments and recommendations

- Identify information gaps, inconsistencies and risks requiring further consideration

- Apply program guidance, templates and quality assurance processes consistently

- Manage an assigned workload to support accurate and timely funding decisions

- Record assessment activities and outcomes in relevant systems and templates

- Work closely with assessment team members and respond constructively to feedback

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in these roles, you will bring experience in grants administration,



funding assessment, policy or program delivery. You will need to learn program requirements quickly and work effectively within a structured team.
You will also demonstrate:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound judgement and the ability to make defensible recommendations
- Close attention to detail
- Clear and concise written communication
- Strong workload and priority management
- Confidence using business systems, records and standard applications
- A collaborative approach and professional stakeholder engagement
- The ability to apply guidance and feedback consistently

To be considered for these roles, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
