About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and technically capable Magnetoencephalography (MEG) Technician to join Swinburne Neuroimaging within the School of Health Sciences.

In this hands-on role, you will support the day-to-day operation of the MEG laboratory and be responsible for supporting the MEG laboratory infrastructure and other neuroimaging modalities and tools. You will assist researchers with conducting experiments, integrate related equipment and stimulus-presentation systems, and maintain accurate laboratory, training and data-management records.

Working closely with the MEG Facility Fellow and Swinburne Neuroimaging Operations Manager, you will contribute to user training and inductions, laboratory tours and classes, equipment maintenance, inventory management and laboratory safety. You will also provide broader technical support across other neuroimaging modalities and facilities, including EEG and TMS laboratories.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in laboratory or research environments who enjoys combining technical problem-solving, participant and researcher support, administration and practical laboratory operations.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- High degree of organisational and administrative skills and a high level of responsibility and ethics.
- Technical skills such as interfacing equipment with PCs.
- Demonstrated experience working in lab and/or research settings.
- Ability to learn and adapt with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of neuroimaging techniques (especially EEG and MEG) is preferred.
- Experience in EEG/MEG/psychophysiology research and with patient groups in a research setting would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with experimental design software such as E-Prime and PsychoPy and interfacing measurement devices is preferred.

Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in science, neuroscience, psychology,



engineering or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
- First aid qualifications and training is preferred.
