Our client is currently seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join a major FMG project delivering large-scale bulk and detailed earthworks across a significant renewables/infrastructure project in WA.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor with a strong civil construction background who is confident providing hands-on HSE support across site operations, engaging with site teams and subcontractors, and driving a strong safety culture across multiple work fronts.

Previous FMG experience and current FMG site inductions are essential due to quick turnaround.

The Role

As an HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day health, safety and environmental support across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project and client requirements.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, Supervisors, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and client representatives to identify and manage risks, promote safe work practices and maintain a strong HSE culture across the project.

Responsibilities

- Provide hands-on HSE support across day-to-day site operations.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
- Identify hazards and assist with the implementation of effective control measures.
- Support supervisors and site teams with risk assessments, SWMS and JHAs.
- Facilitate pre-starts, toolbox meetings and HSE discussions.
- Monitor compliance with project,



company and client HSE requirements.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance across the project.
- Provide guidance and support to site personnel and subcontractors.
- Assist with environmental compliance and monitoring where required.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation, records and reporting.
- Participate in site audits, inspections and client meetings.
- Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE systems and processes.
- Work closely with project management and supervisors to identify and resolve HSE issues.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Proven experience as an HSE Advisor on major civil construction projects.
- Strong experience within civil construction, bulk earthworks or infrastructure.
- Previous experience working on large-scale mining, infrastructure or renewables projects.
- Previous FMG project experience and current site inductions
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, standards and industry best practice.
- Experience with risk assessments, SWMS/JHAs, audits and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with site crews, supervisors, management and subcontractors.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to HSE.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Relevant HSE qualifications, such as a Cert IV/Diploma in WHS, will be highly regarded.
- Robust commitment to safety, quality and environmental compliance.
