Expression of Interest | Group Tax Manager
About the Chance
A large Australian corporate group is seeking expressions of interest from experienced taxation professionals for a senior leadership opportunity within its finance function.
This role will be responsible for leading corporate taxation activities across a complex business environment, ensuring compliance with taxation obligations, strengthening governance frameworks, and providing strategic tax advisory support that influences key business decisions and enterprise-wide initiatives.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across finance, commercial, legal, procurement, payroll and people functions, you will act as a trusted business partner, helping to manage tax risk while delivering practical and commercially focused advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all corporate taxation compliance activities across Australian and international operations.
- Provide strategic and commercially focused tax advice on transactions, business initiatives, policies and contractual arrangements.
- Review significant commercial agreements and projects to identify taxation implications and manage risk.
- Develop, maintain and enhance tax governance, compliance and risk management frameworks.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to embed tax considerations into business decision-making.
- Manage relationships with taxation authorities, external advisor and auditors.
- Support financial reporting, tax-effect accounting, forecasting and statutory reporting requirements.
- Prepare taxation reporting and insights for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Lead, mentor and develop a small taxation team.
About You
You are a senior taxation professional with a strong background in corporate tax, governance and business partnering within a large and complex organisation.
You will bring:
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Degree qualifications in Accounting, Commerce,
Finance or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in senior corporate taxation roles.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian corporate tax, employment taxes and tax-effect accounting.
- Experience developing and managing tax governance frameworks and risk mitigation strategies.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide commercially focused recommendations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
