About the role
Little World Early Learning Centres is seeking a Nursery and Toddler - Float Educator (Diploma Qualified) to join our team at our Worongary centre. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst maintaining a consistent presence across our nursery and toddler rooms. As a Float Educator, you will provide essential support to our permanent staff, ensuring continuity of care and high-quality programming for our youngest learners. Your role is critical in maintaining our commitment to providing safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate experiences for infants and toddlers in our care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to infants and toddlers, including nappy changing, feeding, and rest time support
- Plan and implement age-appropriate learning experiences and play-based activities aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Build positive relationships with children and families, communicating regularly about development and progress
- Support room leaders and permanent educators across nursery and toddler rooms as required
- Observe and document children's development and learning to inform future programming
- Collaborate with the team to maintain consistent routines and practices across the centre
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including duty of care and child protection obligations
What we're looking for
- Current Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for childcare settings
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for Queensland
- Demonstrated experience working with infants and toddlers in an early learning setting
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate practice
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and families
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different rooms and with various team members
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming environments
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing
