About the role

The Bar Supervisor role is to support the venue management team to ensure the efficient, smooth and profitable operation of the bar, while maintaining high standards of service and excellent guest experience. This role bridges the gap between senior management and staff, assisting with day-to-day operations, staff supervision and business performance.

Key responsibilities

- Lead, manage and hold the team accountable, giving explicit direction including in-service feedback and maintaining clear expectations

- Provide the necessary tools for junior bar staff to perform their duties to the expected standards

- Ensure the quality and consistency of the guest experience, focusing on customer service and drink standards

- Ensure all Swillhouse systems are followed within the bar during service

- Maintain perfect venue presentation at all times

- Provide on-shift support, training, and mentoring to junior staff

- Regularly conduct spec and pour tests to uphold high standards

- Ensure stock is rotated correctly, minimising wastage and maintaining quality

- Maintain organisation and cleanliness across all bar areas,



including the whisky room and storage areas

- Ensure weekly defrosts and deep cleans are completed to schedule

About you

- Proven experience leading bar teams within high-volume, high-standard venues

- Ability to train and mentor junior staff, including running spec and pour tests

- Extensive knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer — including production techniques, flavour profiles, presentation, standard serves, history, categories, and regional classifications

- Strong bartending skills with a focus on speed, accuracy, consistency, and exceptional round building

- Calm under pressure, with the ability to adapt and respond effectively to challenges while maintaining service excellence

- Demonstrates strong leadership and accountability, taking initiative and leading by example during service

- Maintains a guest-focused mindset, consistently striving to exceed expectations through devoted hospitality

- Excellent time management, effectively prioritising tasks to ensure all work is completed to a high standard
