Radio Communications Technician – Perth, WA

About the Role
Join our WA Field Operations Team installing radio and wireless equipment on mine sites, mobile plant, vehicles, towers and infrastructure. You'll split your time between client sites and our Perth workshop. You'll also be the face of Progility to our customers, so safety, quality and transparent communication matter as much as technical skill.

What you'll do
- Install radio and wireless equipment in vehicles, trailers, skids and mobile plant, and on towers, buildings and fixed infrastructure
- Carry out rigging and antenna installation on elevated structures at mine sites and industrial facilities
- Install voice and data radio systems, wireless networks and microwave links
- Install and maintain DC power systems supporting communications infrastructure
- Install and terminate cabling to design
- Carry out preventative maintenance on radio and communications systems
- Assist with commissioning, programming and FAT and SAT testing
- Work with clients and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on spec and on time in high-risk environments
- Complete site surveys, installation records and test reports
- Take part in a 24/7 on-call roster supporting critical radio systems
What you'll bring
Essential
- Cert III in Electronics and Communications (or equivalent trade qualification) and a cabling licence
- Experience installing communications equipment, such as radio, wireless, antennas and cabling
- Ability to follow engineering designs for installations on towers, skids, trailers and in shelters or comms rooms
- Experience working at heights in high-risk environments
- Construction Industry Induction Card (White/Red/Blue)
- Current driver's licence (vehicles under 4.5t)
- Full working rights in Australia
- Willingness to travel, work in remote locations and provide after-hours support
Highly desirable
- Rigging experience
- High Risk Work Licence (Work Platform, Rigging)
- Experience in two-way radio systems, including Motorola
Desirable
- Radio equipment programming, commissioning and fault finding, including Motorola and Tait systems
- Experience with conventional and trunked radio and IP-based communications
- Hands-on use of RF and cable test equipment (Anritsu, Keysight, Viavi)
- Experience with FAT and SAT testing and reporting
- EWP operator's license
- Provide First Aid certificate
