As our Financial Accountant, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality financial reporting outcomes across the Group. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with a Big 4 background who is looking to build on their technical accounting expertise while gaining broad exposure to statutory reporting, audit, controls, finance transformation and ESG reporting initiatives.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, Reporting, you will:
- Prepare and support the delivery of statutory financial statements, subsidiary accounts and year-end reporting requirements.
- Deliver month-end and year-end close activities including journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany accounting.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring financial integrity and timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Support management reporting through analysis of P&L; variances, balance sheet movements and key financial trends.
- Assist with external audit requirements, including preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation and responses to audit queries.
- Apply strong technical accounting knowledge to ensure compliance with accounting standards, governance requirements and internal controls.
- Support SOX controls, finance transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects across reporting and finance processes.
- Contribute to finance's ESG reporting obligations, including data collection, reconciliations, control evidence and audit support.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- 3+ years' experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, audit or financial reporting environments.
- Big 4 experience gained within Audit, Assurance or Financial Reporting engagements is ideal however
- Robust technical accounting skills and experience preparing or reviewing financial statements and statutory accounts.
- Demonstrated experience across financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, journals and audit processes.
- A strong risk and controls mindset with the ability to identify issues, challenge evidence and maintain quality documentation.
- Experience working with external auditors and supporting audit deliverables.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems capability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across finance and business teams.
- Exposure to SOX controls,
finance transformation initiatives or ESG reporting will be highly regarded.
