TEAM LEADER OPERATIONS – TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE
The opportunity:
· Full-time permanent position
· Level 5 | $80,543 - $86,816 per annum
· Located at the Shire of Dardanup Depot
Are you an experienced civil construction professional who enjoys leading teams and delivering high-quality infrastructure outcomes? Do you thrive in a hands-on role where no two days are the same?
We are seeking two motivated, practical and safety-focused Team Leader Works to assist in leading our Works crews in the construction and maintenance of roads, footpaths, drainage, signage and other civil infrastructure throughout the Shire.
In this rewarding leadership role, you will work closely with the Coordinator Works to coordinate daily operations, supervise staff and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will play a key role in maintaining essential community infrastructure while fostering a positive and productive team culture.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities and priorities of Works crews.
- Supervise the construction and maintenance of roads, drainage, footpaths, signage and related civil infrastructure.
- Allocate labour, plant and materials to meet program priorities and service standards.
- Monitor work quality and productivity, ensuring works are completed safely and to specification.
- Conduct inspections of infrastructure and coordinate maintenance responses.
- Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox meetings, training and compliance with WHS requirements.
- Supervise contractors and ensure adherence to Shire standards and safe work practices.
- Assist with resource management, procurement, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you:
- Extensive experience in civil construction and maintenance, including roads, drainage, concreting and bitumen works.
- Demonstrated experience leading and supervising operational teams in a hands-on environment.
- Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements, traffic management and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Well-developed organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Current MR Driver's Licence and relevant industry certifications.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality services and fostering a positive team culture.
