Position: Kitchen Hand / Cleaner

Role Overview:
Top Fruit & Vegetables is seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Hand / Cleaner to join our team on a casual basis. You will keep our kitchen clean and running smoothly by washing and sanitising dishes /equipment and maintaining high hygiene standards. You will also support our production team with food preparation for fresh fruit juices, fruit salads, garden salads, sandwiches, and soups. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role, and flexibility with working hours is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, kitchen utensils, juicers, containers, and other equipment throughout the shift
Operate the commercial dishwasher safely and keep it clean and in good working order
Clean and sanitise the kitchen, wash-up area, floors, walls, and storage areas, following cleaning schedules
Empty bins and keep waste and recycling areas tidy
Wash, peel, and cut fresh fruit and vegetables for juices, fruit salads, garden salads, and soups
Assist with the preparation and assembly of sandwiches and other menu items




Support the production team with basic prep tasks as required
Follow all food safety, cleaning schedules, and workplace hygiene standards
Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets

Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a kitchen, cleaning, or food production setting is advantageous, but not essential
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning and food safety procedures accurately
Protected and confident use of knives, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment
Positive communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be on your feet for extended periods
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn and develop within the role

Remuneration:
This casual position is paid in accordance with the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award 2020.
