We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and customer-focused person to join our team as a Container Sorter on a casual basis, working approximately 25 - 30 hours per week.
This is a very busy and fast-paced environment, so we're looking for someone who can keep up, work efficiently and maintain a positive attitude when things get busy.
About the role
The role will involve a combination of:
Sorting and processing recyclable containers
Managing and moving collection bins
Handling cash and processing customer payments
Providing friendly and professional customer service
Maintaining a clean, protected and organised work area
General manual handling and yard duties
Working efficiently in a busy, fast-paced workplace
About you
The successful applicant will:
Be reliable and punctual
Have full availability across 7 days
Be physically fit and comfortable performing repetitive manual work
Have excellent customer service skills
Be comfortable handling cash and dealing with money accurately
Be able to work efficiently under pressure in a busy, rapid-paced environment
Have a positive attitude and be willing to get stuck in
Be able to work effectively as part of a team
Be capable of working independently when required
Take pride in their work and maintain a high standard of accuracy
Previous experience in recycling, warehousing, retail, hospitality, customer service or similar work would be an advantage, but training will be provided for the right person.
The work environment
This is a hands-on, physical role in a busy recycling yard. The successful applicant will need to be comfortable working around noise, trucks, machinery and general yard activity.
Reliability and consistent attendance are essential.
