About us
Subicare is a not for profit, community based early learning centre in the heart of Subiaco. We provide quality care and early years education for children aged 0 to 5 years. Our program is informed by the National Quality Framework, the ECA Code of Ethics, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the WA Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines. Our curriculum is built around five core values: Care, Relationships, Potential, Equality and Fun.
We believe in play-based learning in an inclusive setting where every child learns and develops at their own pace. We are committed to reconciliation and to sustainable, environmentally responsible practice. We are looking for a qualified and caring educator to join our team full-time.
About the role
Reporting to the Centre Director, you will be responsible for:
· Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities and making sure they are protected at all times
· Observing and recording children's learning and development, and keeping accurate documentation
· Supporting children's routines, including meals, rest, toileting and hygiene
· Leading and guiding other educators in the room, and helping to maintain the room's program and routines
· Building positive relationships with families and talking with them regularly about their child's progress
· Identifying and responding to children's individual needs, including children who become unwell or injured
· Meeting all regulatory, health, safety and child protection requirements
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
· A Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or an approved equivalent qualification)
· At least two years of experience working in an early learning or childcare setting
· A current WA Working with Children Check
· Current first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training (HLTAID012 or equivalent)
· A sound working knowledge of the NQF, the National Quality Standard and the EYLF
· Current WA Child Protection and National Child Safety Training Certificates
· National Police Clearance
· Positive communication skills, a commitment to inclusive and respectful practice, and the ability to work well as part of a team
