The HIPPY Mentor plays a vital role in supporting families through the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY). This part-time position involves working closely with parents to enhance their children’s early learning experiences, fostering a positive workplace for educational development. The Mentor will contribute to the charity’s mission of empowering families and promoting community engagement in Australia.

Responsibilities:

Provide guidance and support to families participating in the HIPPY program.

Facilitate home visits to assist parents in implementing educational activities with their children.

Organise and lead group sessions for parents to share experiences and strategies.

Monitor and evaluate the progress of families within the programme.

Collaborate with local community organisations to enhance resources and support for families.
n
Maintain accurate records of family engagement and progress.

Participate in training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications:

Experience in community work or education, preferably in a mentoring or support role.

Robust interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with families.
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A passion for early childhood education and community development.

Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.

A valid Drivers Licence

A valid Working with Children Check or equivalent.

A National Police Check
