Our client is a highly secure, regulated organisation that builds custom software, helping organisations in the banking and finance space with their event driven architectures and AML capabilities. They are looking for a Senior Python Developer to be their foundational internal engineering hire.

This is a strictly hands-on engineering role. You will be the technical anchor for the platform writing high-quality production code and establishing engineering patterns for an outsourced development team.

The Role n

n
Take technical ownership of a critical digital platform, designing and building distributed systems.
n
Translate complex requirements into secure, buildable technical solutions.
n
Design and implement event-driven, asynchronous, and API-based workflows.
n
Actively write, test, and deliver production software.
n
Troubleshoot complex application, integration,



and distributed-system issues.
n
Review code from external partners and challenge implementation approaches to ensure quality and security.
n

Technical Requirements nn
Solid, current hands-on development experience with Python and Django .
n
Expertise in asynchronous systems .
n
Practical experience with RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms.
n
A solid understanding of distributed systems and their failure modes
n
Demonstrated experience integrating Application Security by design, including OAuth, up-to-date identity patterns, and secure handling of sensitive data.
n
Strong experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
