An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to support a major infrastructure program for a QLD Government client.

Based in Nerang, you’ll lead a small communications and engagement team, provide strategic advice, and deliver explicit, consistent engagement with communities and stakeholders.

Contract | Full-time | 6 months, possible extension
About the role n
You will:
n
n
Lead community engagement, stakeholder relations and correspondence activities.
n
Provide advice on media, external communications, issues management and engagement risks.
n
Coach a small team to produce explicit, accurate and consistent communications.
n
Work closely with project teams to identify emerging issues and develop proactive responses.
n
Build positive relationships with community, industry, business and government stakeholders.
n
Keep up to date with project activities and identify communication trends and risks.
n
About you n
You’ll bring solid communications and engagement experience, sound judgement, and confidence working with a range of stakeholders—including in challenging conversations. Experience in major infrastructure projects, social media, team leadership and community engagement frameworks such as IAP2 will be highly regarded.
n
A communications, public relations or marketing qualification is desirable, or equivalent relevant experience.
Mandatory requirements n
n
Current Class C driver’s licence and your own vehicle to attend project sites, offices and meetings. Travel costs are not included in the contract.
n
Willingness to undergo employment screening, which may include a criminal history check.
n
Construction Induction Card (White Card), or ability to obtain one within six months of starting.
