About the role n
We’re looking for a skilled Boilermaker / Welder to join our workshop team at Bendigo . You’ll be responsible for the fabrication and welding of vacuum tanker equipment, working with both stainless steel and mild steel.
Your day-to-day work will include: n
n
Welding and fabricating vacuum tanker equipment
n
MIG and TIG welding of stainless steel and mild steel
n
Welding dissimilar metals, including mild steel to stainless steel
n
Oxy cutting and other workshop fabrication tasks
n
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
n
Operating overhead gantry cranes and workshop equipment
n
Working safely at heights when required
n
Completing time recording and quality documentation
n
Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
n
Working as part of a team while also being able to work independently
n
Using practical problem-solving skills to find effective solutions
n
What you’ll bring n
We’re looking for someone with:
n
n
Previous experience in welding and metal fabrication
n
Strong MIG welding skills, particularly with stainless steel
n
TIG welding experience with stainless steel – desirable
n
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
n
Experience with oxy cutting and general fabrication
n
Ability to successfully complete our weld testing as part of the recruitment process
n
Experience operating overhead gantry cranes
n
Current Working at Heights certification – preferred
n
Forklift licence – desirable, but not essential
n
A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork
