DescriptionAbout the RoleIn this role, you will be responsible for meeting production and profitability targets by underwriting new business, endorsements, and renewals in line with the underwriting criteria issued by the Personal Lines Department.
You will also be expected to build relationships with new producers and continue servicing existing producers where allocations are included in the individual's annual goals.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor profitability of portfolio and provide constructive feedback on steps to improve if required Evaluate, accept or decline new business, endorsements or renewal business based on underwriting guidelinesCollate underwriting information and refer risks outside the scope of authorities issued or the underwriting guidelines to the Unit Manager with recommendationsMonitor competitors' products and recommend changes to our wording to sustain competitive advantageWhere applicable, establish and build new relationships with potential producers (or refer to RM's) who have prospective business that meets our underwriting guidelinesMonitor work loads and advise team leaders if assistance is required due to exceptional circumstances, i.e. seasonal business loads or personal vacationAssist members of the appraisal section with any queriesAssist members of the claims department with any queriesWork with staff members in other departments to identify cross marketing opportunities as and when requiredQualificationsWhat you'll bring to the roleDemonstrated underwriting skills, Negotiation and marketing skillsPolicy documentation, including terms and conditions, Underwriting policy practiceUnderstanding the appraisal servicesFront-End, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerpointProduct range in the Personal Lines DepartmentUnderstanding the underwriting appetite of other DepartmentsInsurance industry and Chubb's position in the market Why Chubb?
