We are seeking an organised and detail focused Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team in Alexandria on a full time, 12-month fixed-term contract.
About the role n
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will support day-to-day finance operations, supplier payments and month-end and year-end closing activities. Approximately 90% of the role focuses on accounts payable , with the remaining 10% supporting accounts receivable .

This role offers exposure to local and overseas supplier transactions, payments across Australia and New Zealand, and financial reporting processes.
Your responsibilities n
Accounts payable
n
Daily maintenance of overseas shipment payment records, purchase orders and supplier invoice lists.
n
Process payments for overseas shipments and upload AP journals for shipments received.
n
Save and organise local supplier invoices in the relevant AP folders.
n
Prepare and process weekly supplier payments for Australia and Current Zealand.
n
Prepare and post month-end AP accrual journals.
n
Complete daily bank reconciliations across AP and AR.
n
Assist the Senior Accountant with month-end and year-end AP closing procedures.
n
Accounts receivable and finance support
n
Process daily customer receipt journals using customer remittance advice.
n
Follow up outstanding customer payments.
n
Provide supporting documentation for interim and year-end audits.
n
Provide cover for finance team members during absences and assist with other duties as required.
About you n
You bring robust numerical skills, accurate data entry and a practical approach to managing deadlines. You will also have:
n
2–5 years’ experience in a similar accounts payable or finance role.
n
Experience using accounting software; SAP experience is desirable .
n
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
Excellent organisation and a high level of attention to detail.
n
Full time working rights in Australia for the duration of the contract.
