Private Sector Housing Enforcement OfficerPay Rate: £***** per hour PAYEHours per week: 37.5 Monday – Friday, normal working hoursLocation:Northampton NN1 1EDMust hold a full Driving License and have access to a car for business purposesKey requirementsHousing Health and Safety Rating Scheme certified competencyRecent and substantial experience carrying out housing inspections and enforcement activityStrong working knowledge of housing legislation with proven experience applying enforcement powersProven experience issuing Civil Financial Penalties under the Housing Act **** (candidates must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience taking action and issuing penalties,



not just an understanding of the legislation)Ability to hit the ground running with minimal training or supervisionExperience of working with or preparing cases for the First Tier Housing Tribunal would be advantageous.Key responsibilitiesUndertake a range of activities including property inspections, HHSRS assessments, the drafting of schedules of work and the preparation and serving of noticesWork collaboratively with the owners and managers of licensable HMOs to ensure that their properties are licensed, well managed and maintainedRespond to complaints about responsible disrepair and housing-related nuisance in the private sector and, through investigationWork proactively with internal and external authorities to investigate and accomplish roleMaintain professional competence and keep abreast of developments in relation to private sector housing enforcementReference:Northampton RQ*******Job Ref: RQ*******Anticipated Length of Assignment:Unless otherwise stated (we do carry the occasional permanent vacancy) all of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent.
