We are currently seeking a Farm Manager who will be responsible for all farm operations across the year.

This is a permanent full time role, based in a remote location in NSW, where free accommodation will be provided to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Plan and carry out the annual crop management activities, including pruning and topping, nutrition, pest and disease control and weed management
n
Monitor crop health, development and maturity and decide optimal harvest timing
n
Run and record spray and fertiliser programs in line with label requirements and chemical regulations
n
Operate, monitor and maintain the irrigation system including bores, pumps, filters, mainlines and driplines
n
Schedule irrigation based on soil moisture, weather, crop stage and water availability
n
Carry out fertigation where used
n
Record water use and help ensure compliance with water licence and metering conditions.
n
Find and fix leaks,
blockages and pump faults quickly to avoid crop stress
n
Plan and lead the mechanical harvest
n
Operate and supervise harvesting machinery and tractors safely and efficiently
n
Coordinate harvest activities to maintain efficiency, crop quality and timely post harvest handling
n
Requirements n
We are looking for someone who has:
n

A qualification in agriculture, horticulture or agronomy (preferred)
n
Experience in a commercial horticultural operation
n
Able to work independently in a regional location
n
Solid knowledge of farm operations
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Positive safety awareness and a practical approach to problem-solving
n
Valuable organisational and communication skills
