We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the finance department and keep the business's finances running smoothly and accurately, working four days per week from the head office in Cleveland.About the roleReporting to Operations Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day financial management of the village and give the leadership team the insight they need to make sound decisions.
It's a hands-on role with genuine variety, suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business rather than one of many in a large finance team.Your key responsibilities will include:Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including management accounts and board reportingManaging month-end and year-end processes, reconciliations and audit preparationPreparing budgets and forecasts,



and analysing performance against themOverseeing village operating budgets and the financial obligations under the Retirement Villages Act **** (Qld), including capital replacement and maintenance reserve fundsManaging resident-related financials such as ingoing contributions, exit entitlements and general services chargesHandling BAS, GST, FBT and payroll tax compliance, and liaising with external accountants and auditorsReviewing and improving financial systems, controls and processesSupporting management with cash flow planning, pricing and project analysisAbout youCA or CPA qualified (or well advanced towards it)At least 10 years' accounting experience, ideally including a senior or lead roleExperience in retirement living, aged care, property or a similar regulated sector is highly regardedStrong knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirementsConfident with MYOB and advanced Excel skillsA clear communicator who can explain financial information to non-finance colleaguesOrganised, detail-focused and comfortable managing competing deadlinesA meaningful role in a community-focused business where your work makes a real difference to residents' livesAutonomy and the chance to shape the finance functionA supportive, friendly team in a beautiful bayside locationFree onsite parking and career development support
