The position will primarily support the Automotive businesses which design, engineer and remanufacture more than 12,000 vehicles each year (GMSV & RAM) and distribute parts and accessories in domestic and export markets.
The Walkinshaw Group has a long history and over the past three years it has undergone a period of significant change and is looking for an enthusiastic candidate willing to learn about the automotive manufacturing business in a broad-based financial role.What you'll be doingReporting directly to the Financial Controller of the Automotive business, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day accounting and finance tasks, including month end processes, whilst driving accuracy and ensuring integrity of the financial data.
The role will be 'hands on' and form an integral part of driving accuracy and integrity with the financial data.You will also play an active role in continuous improvement for accounting by involvement in various projects.
By collaborating with the various stakeholders, you will have true insight across the business and collaborate with the Financial Controller to provide these insights to the Leadership team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated person looking to consolidate their experience and drive change in a fast-growing business.The main objectives of this role include the following:Work with the broader finance function and stakeholders to assist with the monthly financial close in a timely and accurate manner from end to endCollaborate with the Financial Controller in providing timely and accurate financial information to the Leadership TeamEnsure timely completion of the Group's statutory reporting requirements.Ownership of posting monthly journalsMaintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and financial systemsMaintain general ledger accuracy and deliver timely financial resultsPrepare balance sheet reconciliations, manage risks/opportunities, and support internal/external auditsPartner with FP&A; to deliver budgets, forecasts, and performance analysisIdentify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and reporting efficienciesControl income, cash flow and expenditureSupport group consolidation, including inter-company reconciliations, eliminations, and loan balancesLead month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset managementEnsuring Inventory and cost accounting are accurateEnsure compliance with all statutory obligations including GST, FBT, PAYG,
company and payroll taxDeliver accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliations, and forecastsMaintain compliance with governance frameworks, policies, and Delegations of Financial Authority (DFA)Build strong working relationships with finance, commercial, and operational teams.What we're looking for in a successful candidateFinance / Business Degree QualificationCPA / CA QualificationA minimum of 2-3 years experience in a Big4/mid-tier firm - candidates making their first move from Big 4/mid-tier professional practice are encouraged to applyDemonstrated high level of technical expertise in financial accounting requirements and practices, including a high level of analytical skillsExperience in Manufacturing and/or FMCG is an advantageDynamic and results driven with solid business acumenDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlinesA hands-on, cooperative, and engaging attitudeAdvanced Excel skills and ERP literacyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWhat we offerCompetitive salary package, including 2 RDOs per yearOpportunity to work in an experienced, high performing teamA cooperative environment with strong career development pathwaysInterested?
