We are seeking an experienced Pipe Welder / Fabricator to join our workshop team in Braeside, Victoria.This role involves pipe fabrication and welding across carbon steel and stainless steel systems within a modern workshop environment.
You will have exposure to advanced fabrication technologies including robotic welding systems and laser cutting equipment.The majority of work is factory-based, with occasional onsite projects requiring confident field welding capability.This is a stable, long-term chance for a skilled tradesperson who demonstrates strong technical ability, initiative, and a commitment to quality and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesFit, align, and assemble pipe components using clamps, jigs, and fixturesRead and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specificationsMeasure, mark, and prepare materials for cutting and weldingPerform welding using MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW)Weld carbon steel and stainless steel pipe to high quality standardsAssist with setup and operation of robotic welding systemsWork alongside laser cutting equipment and assist with basic troubleshooting where requiredComplete weld finishing (grinding, dressing,
and clean-up)Conduct in-process and final weld quality checksMaintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environmentPerform onsite welding work when requiredSkills & Experience3+ years of pipe welding and fabrication experienceStrong background in carbon steel and stainless steel weldingProficient in MIG and TIG welding processesWelding certifications required (you will be required to pass a weld procedure)Ability to interpret fabrication and engineering drawingsExperience with robotic welding systems and/or laser cutting equipment advantageous (training provided)High attention to detail and strong quality standardsAbility to work independently and show initiativeReliable, punctual, and safety-consciousConfidence performing onsite welding workRemuneration$40–$45 per hour + superannuation (based on experience)Overtime opportunities availableRequirementsFull-time availability (Monday–Friday)Willingness to work overtime when requiredPhysically capable of workshop-based fabrication work
