About the role
Excellent opportunity for experienced Steel Fixers to join a busy precast yard in Woolgoolga, NSW.
You'll be working hands‐on with reinforcement steel for precast moulds—reading drawings, preparing and tying rebar, and ensuring reinforcement is set correctly prior to concrete pours.
Duties
Read reinforcing steel drawings and specificationsMeasure, cut and bend reinforcing bar (rebar) to required sizesAssemble and fix reinforcement cages and steel framesTie reinforcement using tie wire and hand toolsPosition reinforcement, mesh, starter bars, ligatures and components inside precast mouldsInstall spacers and maintain required concrete coverCheck dimensions, spacing and positioning against drawingsOperate tools/equipment (rebar cutters, benders, grinders, tying tools)Assist with setting up and stripping precast moulds as requiredMove/position reinforcing steel and materials around the yardMaintain a clean,



safe work area and follow WHS procedures/PPE requirementsWork closely with concrete crews, formworkers, and crane/production teams to prepare moulds for pouring
Skills and Experience
Proven steel fixing experience (ideally within precast or similar production environments)Ability to read and work from reo/reinforcement drawings and specsConfident cutting, bending, tying, and placing reo to measurement/tolerance requirementsStrong safety mindset and ability to work efficiently in a team environment
Desirable:
Experience working in precast yards / mould preparation environmentsAbility to operate common yard tools and equipment safely (cutters/benders/grinders)
