Join our Clinical Engineering team and use your biomedical engineering expertise to support the safe, reliable and effective management of medical equipment across the Central Coast.
About the Opportunity
Join the Central Coast Local Health District as a Biomedical Engineer, Grade 2, where you will apply your engineering expertise to support the safe, effective and reliable management of medical equipment and systems across our services. Working closely with the Clinical Engineering team and a range of clinical and operational stakeholders, in this role you will:
Provide technical expertise, advice and support on medical equipment, electronic systems and related technologies.
Undertake commissioning, calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance, performance verification and scheduled inspections of medical equipment.
Develop, implement and maintain medical equipment management programs, supporting the effective lifecycle management of CCLHD's medical equipment assets.
Assist with the supervision, support and technical development of Biomedical Engineers and Technicians, including providing training and guidance.
Manage and contribute to projects, equipment trials, recalls, investigations and service arrangements, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
You are an experienced Biomedical Engineer who enjoys applying your technical expertise to solve complex problems and support the safe and effective use of medical equipment in a healthcare environment. You will bring a collaborative approach, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, we are looking for someone who has:
Demonstrated experience in engineering analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting of electronic systems and equipment.
Extensive experience in testing, repairing, maintaining and managing a diverse range of medical equipment and complex medical systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear technical advice and work effectively with clinical and technical teams.
The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks while supporting the development and training of other team members.
