About the Role:
Little Vietnam 504 is looking for an experienced and passionate chef that knows how to prepare authentic Vietnamese dishes.
We are looking for the appropriate candidate to join our team at Hampton, in Victoria.
We are now looking for a full time chef to meet the high demand in customers arriving in our venue daily. Our chefs currently cannot keep up!
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook authentic Vietnamese dishes such as Pho, Vermicelli , rice, stir fry, entrees and daily specials.
Manage daily food preparation including cutting, marinating, seasoning and making broths and sauces.
Maintain consistent quality, flavour and presentation of all dishes.
Follow food safety and hygiene standards and keep the kitchen clean and organised.
Check stock levels, rotate ingredients and reduce food waste.
Work with the kitchen team during busy service to ensure smooth and timely dish delivery.
Train junior staff on basic preparation and protected food handling.
Assist with menu development when needed.
Must work be able to work in a team environment
Skills:
Must have 12 months of full time work experience and pre-qualification experience can be considered
Work professionally in a fast-paced kitchen workplace
Be able to work and complete the meals on time in a high-volume service while maintaining quality and consistency
Be able to perform necessary knife skills
Must have experience in high volume kitchen operations
They have in depth knowledge and are familiar with the Vietnamese dishes in a very busy environment
Qualifications:
Must hold a Diploma of hospitality management
Bonus: if you have completed a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
