Nyangbul Land and Sea Manager – Aboriginal Identified PositionAs the Nyangbul Land and Sea Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of the Land and Sea program and provide guidance and support to the Ranger team.
A major focus of this position is mentoring and developing Rangers – building their skills, confidence and capability and creating opportunities for Rangers to grow within their roles.Key responsibilitiesLead and coordinate the Nyangbul Land and Sea program and Ranger teamSupervise, support and mentor Rangers through strong, culturally appropriate leadershipBuild Ranger capability through on-the-job mentoring, training and developmentPlan and coordinate Ranger projects, field activities, work schedules and prioritiesSupport the delivery of Caring for Country, cultural and environmental land and sea management activitiesWork closely with Elders, Traditional Owners, members and the broader Aboriginal communityMaintain strong relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, contractors and community partnersManage program budgets, funding requirements, project deliverables and reportingIdentify opportunities for current projects, partnerships, funding and employment pathwaysEnsure field activities are appropriately planned, resourced and undertaken safelyAbout youDemonstrated experience leading, supervising or mentoring staff, Rangers or community-based teamsExperience in land management, natural resource management, conservation,



Ranger programs or a related areaStrong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community and connection to CountryAbility to mentor and develop Rangers with different levels of experience and capabilityStrong planning, coordination and organisational skillsAbility to build respectful relationships with Elders, Traditional Owners, community and external stakeholdersExperience coordinating projects, budgets, funding deliverables and reportingSound understanding of workplace health and safety, particularly in field-based environmentsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsCurrent driver's licence and ability to hold a National Police Check and WWCC$110,000 per annum base salarySuperannuationSalary sacrifice benefitsOpportunity to lead and further develop the Nyangbul Land and Sea programA leadership role with a strong focus on mentoring and developing Aboriginal RangersThe opportunity to work on Country and contribute to protecting land, culture and communityOpportunity to build partnerships and create future opportunities for the Ranger teamThis is an Aboriginal identified position.
