Are you an employment or industrial relations lawyer looking to step into a complex, highly visible role where you can genuinely influence workforce strategy and business outcomes?
Our client is a large national organisation operating across NSW, QLD, VIC and SA, with a highly unionised workforce and a complex industrial landscape.
Following a long-standing team member's resignation, they are seeking an Industrial Relations Lawyer to join the team on an initial 6 month contract, with a strong view to permanency.This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys the practical side of workplace relations and wants exposure to enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, workforce planning and strategic employee relations advice within a large corporate setting.
The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders and the Employee Relations team, supporting a business with more than 50 Enterprise Agreements across 30+ subsidiaries.The RoleReporting into the Employee & Industrial Relations function, you will:Provide advice on a broad range of employment and industrial relations mattersSupport and lead enterprise bargaining activities and EBA reviewsRepresent the business in Fair Work Commission matters, conciliations and industrial disputesAdvise on disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, performance management and terminationsPartner with operational leaders on workforce planning and organisational change initiativesEngage with unions and employee representativesReview and interpret enterprise agreements, awards,
employment contracts and workplace policiesSupport governance, compliance and industrial risk management activitiesTravel occasionally to support stakeholder groups across the businessAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Admitted Australian Lawyer with a current practising certificateMinimum 2 years' PQE in employment law, workplace relations or industrial relationsExperience gained within a respected mid-tier, top-tier or specialist workplace relations practiceCompleted a formal graduate programExposure to enterprise bargaining and industrial relations mattersConfidence appearing before or engaging with the Fair Work CommissionStrong attention to detail and ability to manage complex industrial instrumentsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsA commercial, pragmatic approach and eagerness to continue developing your careerWhat's on Offer?
